Pentachlorophenol (PCP)- Directive 94/783/EC

Due to its toxicity to the aquatic environment, pentachlorophenol (PCP) is banned in textile products worldwide. PCP is an organic compound mostly used for its mouldicide properties. The most important reason for banning PCP is that the combustion of PCP will release dioxins known as some of the most toxic substances in the world, PCP may also be cancer inducing. PCP is sometimes used to prevent mould when growing cotton and when storing/transporting fabrics. PCP can also be used as a preservative in print pastas & rubber product.

Normal limit: 0.5 ppm  for Adult. 0.05 ppm for baby
